About IndianGaurav

IndianGaurav is a blog about the good things happening in India and the people behind them. We write about ordinary and extraordinary Indians whose work serves the country: farmers who save seeds, teachers who build schools, doctors who serve remote villages, artists who keep traditions alive.

The site is run by a small independent team, the IndianGaurav team. We are not paid by, or connected to, any government body or political party.

Where our stories come from

We started with two public sources:

  • Padma Award recipients from 2014 onward, using the official lists from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
  • People and initiatives mentioned in the Mann Ki Baat radio programme, using the official transcripts.

For each person we then look for reliable supporting sources, such as reputable newspapers and official websites.

What we stand for

  • Respect. We tell each story with care, focused on the person and their work.
  • Non-partisan. We celebrate citizens. We do not campaign for any party or politician.
  • Accuracy. Every fact must trace back to a source listed on the page. If we cannot source it, we leave it out.
  • Simple language. Warm, plain English that a school student or a grandparent can enjoy.

How we use AI

Some first drafts are prepared with the help of AI tools, working only from the facts we have collected. A person then checks every fact against the sources, rewrites where needed, and approves the story before it is published. Profiles drafted this way say so at the bottom of the page. Read the full editorial and sources policy.
